Norte beach

Located to the north of the imposing Nazaré Promontory (Promontório da Nazaré), better known as “Sítio”, Praia do Norte is an unsupervised beach. It feels like a wild beach, with dunes that preserve the original vegetation.

Cercado dos Veados

In Sítio, on the way to Praia do Norte, in the Pinewood of Our Lady of Nazaré we find the "Cercado dos Veados" – “the Deer Reserve”, a joint project of the Municipality of Nazaré and the Confraria (Brotherhood of Our Lady of Nazaré), in order to evoke and remember the miracle of Our Lady of Nazaré to the Knight D. Fuas Roupinho. Here you can see several specimens of red deer. The red deer or red deer (Cervus elaphus) is a species of large deer in the northern hemisphere, distributed across Europe, Asia and North Africa. It is the largest deer after the Elk. Males can reach 250 kilograms and females up to 150 kilograms.

Praia de Vale Furado

Praia de Vale Furado is a beach located in Pataias, Leiria District, in central Portugal, roughly between Nazaré and São Pedro de Moel.The beach is part of the Portuguese Costa de Prata and is renowned not only for its sandstone cliffs but also its geological heritage: part of the Feligueira Grande formation, the extinct genus of Iberosuchus, a mesoeucrocodylian, was first described here in 1975, a tapir (Paralophiodon cf. leptorhynchum) was also found in addition to other unidentified crocodiles, chelonians and small mammals.

Praia de Paredes da Vitória

O topónimo “Paredes” é relativamente comum e regra geral indica que os povoadores que lhes deram os nomes encontraram “paredes” ou “muros”, isto é, ruínas de povoados anteriores, de cujo nome não havia memória. Assim, Paredes da Vitória, Vale de Paredes e praia das Paredes são topónimos que designam a mesma povoação, situada no litoral norte do concelho de Alcobaça, freguesia de Pataias. As referências à povoação são muito antigas, existindo mesmo vestígios na Serra d’Aire e dos Candeeiros de uma estrada romana (Estrada Romana da Carreirancha - Alqueidão da Serra) datada entre os séculos I a.C. e I d.C., que faria a ligação entre Tomar, o porto de Paredes, Collipo (Leiria) e Conimbriga.
