Extended Description of the "Extreme Adventure in Nazaré" Bicycle Tour

This bicycle tour is designed for experienced cyclists with excellent physical preparation who are ready for a real adventure on two wheels through the picturesque places of Portugal.

Coastal Landscapes and Countryside

Leaving Nazaré, the route will take you through stunning coastal landscapes where rocky cliffs meet the endless blue of the ocean. Then the path leads deeper into the region, through picturesque rural areas with traditional Portuguese farms and vineyards. You will pass through several authentic villages where time seems to have stopped.

Olive Groves

One of the most impressive sections of the route will be the climb through ancient olive groves, some trees reaching several hundred years of age. Olive trees, like silver sculptures, create a unique landscape. This region is famous for producing high-quality olive oil.

Santa Rita de Cós Church

After a challenging climb, you will reach the top of the hill, offering a stunning view of the Santa Rita de Cós Church. This historic monastery, founded in the 13th century, is a magnificent example of Portuguese Gothic architecture with Baroque elements. You will be able to see its elegant facade, inner courtyard, and learn about the rich history of this place, which was once an important religious center of the region.

Forest Trails

The return journey to Nazaré runs along scenic forest trails through groves of cork oak, eucalyptus, and pine. This section of the route features technical descents and climbs requiring good bike handling skills.

The entire route covers approximately 45-50 kilometers with an elevation gain of more than 800 meters, making it a real challenge even for prepared cyclists. The tour takes about 5 hours, including stops for rest, photography, and snacking on traditional Portuguese treats.

This bike tour is a perfect opportunity to test your strength and enjoy authentic Portugal away from tourist routes.
