We did not do a tour with IronDeer, we just rented bikes. The bikes were in great shape! Vasco was amazingly helpful with telling us where to find a good ride. We followed his Strava route and it was sensational. We road on all kinds of terrain, through vineyards, past churches, a monastery and more. Also his rental prices were very good! When he saw that I returned with a bloody knee (rider error) he was kind and helped me to clean it up. Thank you

We had an amazing day doing the Silver Coast Sur bike tour with Vasco! Our family of 4 wanted an active and adventurous way to see sights along the coastline during our 10 day roadtrip. IronDeer delivered! Beautiful and interesting viewpoints we never would have seen otherwise. Vasco was professional, patient, and super friendly. I would say that this particular tour route requires physical stamina but if you’re moderately active you’ll be fine. E-bikes are easy to learn and Vasco has really nice and well maintained equipment. This was one of the highlights of our trip. Thank you Vasco!

My wife and I had a wonderful time today! Normally, I like to do MTB tours on my own, but the price difference between rental and a tour was so little that we took the tour. (Also, I didn't bring my gps) Vasco took us to trails, places, and viewpoints I would never find by myself. A day full of adventure and great sightseeing. The bikes were top-notch quality and brand new, which made the trail much easier. Would definitely recommend it. Next time, we will come back for the other tours! Thank you!

Top 5 experience of our 2 month visit to Portugal, Vasco was very knowledgeable of the area and culture, he tailored the tour to our experience level giving us options on the route (do you want to take mountain trail or the street?). The tour included gloves, water, and a helmet he did not try to add additional costs like so many other tours. The bikes were brand new high end enduro eMTBs that can handle any terrain. We look forward to another tour with Vasco when we return to Portugal with our son as Vasco said he has some single track trails that would challenge his MTB skills, what a great experience

Very good communication towards customer and they always try to seek a solition to fit your needs.
The IronDeer bikes ride great and are nicely tied to the legwndary deer on the Praia do Norte, the famous surf spot! The boke was rolling (with Pirelli Cinturatos) so well I ended up riding further than I anticipated. The bike came with full setup including mulyi tool, tire levers, spare inner inside the top tube bag.
This was one of the best rental bikes (if not the best!) I've ridden while traveling around the world. I highly recommend choosing IronDeer for your rental spot!

I had problems with my bike and I looked up a bike shop on Google. I landed on Irondeer and I stopped off randomly.

Today I booked a ride at IronDeer E-Bike Tours. Even if it the forecast said havy rain we startet the Tour and it was great.
We drove through muddy roads but the bikes worked perfectly. Tires gave good grip and we had nice views during the ride. My giude Vasco took good care and the tour was aligned to my skills.
I can highly recommend that company.

Nazaré is internationally known for the world's biggest surfable waves at Praia do Norte, where wave heights regularly exceed 20 metres. The waves are created by the Nazaré Canyon — the longest underwater canyon in Europe — which funnels Atlantic swell directly at the coast. World records set here by Garrett McNamara and Sebastian Steudtner turned the town into a global surf landmark. Nazaré is also one of the few Portuguese coastal towns where traditional fishing culture is still part of everyday life, with an active harbour, a morning fish market, and nets drying in the streets.
Big-wave season in Nazaré runs from roughly October to March, with the largest swells usually between November and February. In summer, Praia do Norte is calm, wide and far less crowded than most visitors expect — better for cycling and beach days than for wave watching. From IronDeer's shop in central Nazaré, Praia do Norte is under 15 minutes away by bike.
Yes. Most of Nazaré's best experiences — Praia do Norte, the Sítio clifftop, the morning fish market, the Pederneira viewpoint, and the surrounding Silver Coast beaches — sit within 5 km of the town centre and are available year-round. Outside peak summer (August) the town is quieter, restaurants are easier to get into, and the coastline is at its best for riding.
Nazaré has three distinct neighbourhoods, all close together. Praia is the beach district at sea level, where most visitors stay. Sítio is the clifftop historic quarter, reached by the Elevador da Nazaré funicular, with the best views in the region. Pederneira is the hillside quarter overlooking the lagoon — one of the best panoramic viewpoints in town, and still missing from most travel itineraries. Most visitors only ever see the first; on an e-bike you can cover all three in a single ride.
The most common mistake is spending the whole visit on the main beach strip. Praia do Norte, Sítio and Pederneira are all close enough to combine in one day, yet most first-time visitors skip them and leave thinking Nazaré is just a beach town. Other frequent mistakes: never taking the funicular up to the Miradouro do Suberco, visiting in August without a plan, and assuming you need a car.
You can reach Sítio from the beach in minutes on the Elevador da Nazaré funicular, ride up by e-bike, or walk the steep path. The Miradouro do Suberco viewpoint is a short walk from the top station and gives the clearest view of the town, the bay and Praia do Norte. The climb to Sítio is steep — which is the single best argument for choosing an e-bike in Nazaré.
No, you do not need a car in Nazaré. The town is compact and well connected — most highlights sit within 5 km of the centre and need no car, tour bus or advance planning. A bike or e-bike covers Praia do Norte, Sítio, Pederneira, the harbour and the fish market easily, and avoids the parking problems that frustrate drivers in peak season.
Yes — all three sit within a short ride of central Nazaré, and combining them is the best way to understand the town's geography.
